leaks and drips are costing you money!

A complete or partially clogged drain makes that sink or tub hard, if not impossible to use. And if the clog is far enough down stream if can even make the whole bathroom, or even your whole home slow to drain.

Many things contribute to clogged drains, so avoiding them when possible will help to ensure that your plumbing system remains clog free.

  • Grease being allowed to run down the kitchen drain.
  • Foreign objects flushed through a toilet or drain.
  • Hair from our pets, or from ourselves, all contribute to clogs.

In order to help keep your drains in working order, never allow kitchen grease to flow down the drain, even while running hot water. The hot water only makes the clog occur further down the line when the water and grease eventually cool, and the grease congeals. This often makes the clog harder, and more expensive, to clear.

Foreign objects sounds like a no-brainer, but many of us put harmful things down our drains without thinking about it. Bits of food from the kitchen, so-called flushable wipes (which should never be flushed), paper towels, etc, will either cause or contribute to a clog.

While we can't do anything to keep out own hair out of the shower drain, we can bathe our pets in a dedicated pet tub that can be dumped outside. Or even better, wash 'ol Yellow outside.
